Service Description

Join our Disability & Carers Class at Stillworks Meditation, led by a professionally trained instructor skilled in Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi, mindfulness and breathwork. This gentle yet powerful program offers modified practices for sitting or standing to enhance balance, strength, flexibility, and relaxation, promoting your overall health & well-being. Experience the benefits of accessible mindfulness techniques tailored for your unique needs, ensuring a supportive environment for both caregivers and individuals with disabilities. Based on a modified version of Shibashi Set 1, classes are designed to help you stay active without straining your body, whatever your level of mobility. Classes also offer support for carers to avoid injury, help recovery from injury and reduce anxiety. If you need support from a carer for the class, simply book for yourself and you can bring your carer along for free. All carers are welcome to join in the class. If you are a carer wishing to attend alone simply book for yourself, you will learn how to look after yourself which will support your caring role, and also some simple techniques you can pass on. Classes are held on Thursdays at 1:45 - 2:45 pm at The Bridge Between Community Centre, Barry (see map for location) and are fully wheelchair accessible with accessible bathroom facilities. All classes are informal and you are invited to go at your own pace. Our mantra is: Focus on what you can do, not what you can't do. If you have any questions or concerns please get in touch using the contact form on the website.
